Doug Christiansen has been named the new Head Coach of Great Britain’s men’s hockey team. Christiansen had been the assistant coach this past season under Tony Hand. Hand has since stepped down, and Christiansen will take over immediately after this morning’s announcement.

Christiansen will be busy this season, as he has recently moved behind the Steelers bench in Sheffield, after three very good campaigns in Belfast. He guided the Giants to the EIHL title in 2011-2012, and was named Coach of the Year.
I caught up with Christiansen earlier and discussed his new role for Team GB, and what he has planned to get the program back where he believes it should be.
