Blackhawk Jubilation

Well folks, the long and winding road to the Stanley Cup has come to an end! The Chicago Blackhawks defeat the Boston Bruins in six exciting games to hoist the greatest trophy in all of sports!

What a series – one for the ages! Three of the six contests went to overtime, and the physical toll on both teams was extraordinary. Patrick Kane  (9G, 10A, 2 GWG) wins the Conn Smythe as the NHL Playoffs MVP, and Chicago has topped the hockey mountain yet again. The Hawks also won it all in 2010, and in this modern era of the NHL, it’s so hard to win one championship, let alone two in four years. Well done to Jonathan Toews and his teammates.

For those of us in Europe that have been watching the Stanley Cup on web-streams, and other on-line sites, here’s a treat! The Hockey Night in Canada intro and closing montage from Game Six. It has to be said that broadcasters here in Europe do their best to help provide the excitement of the Final, but no one does it better than HNIC, and I miss CBC broadcasts immensely this time of year. Enjoy these, and hopefully you’ve enjoyed the entire NHL post-season wherever you watched.
